Ring Making I

TO BE PLACE ON A WAITLIST, EMAIL EDUCATION@ARTSCOUNCILOFPRINCETON.ORG If you have ever wondered how a simple band is made, you will learn all the tricks of the trade in this three hour workshop. Any level can take this class where you will learn how to measure and size a ring, solder it together for a beautiful 6mm wide band. As well as other beginner and intermediate metalsmithing techniques including forming metal, soldering, ring sizing, pickling, stamping, oxidizing,hammering, finishing and more. It´s a great chance for anyone who does beading to take their work to the next level. Materials fee of $30 payable to instructor. Materials kit will include sterling silver, polishing pads and sandpaper. Instructor will bring all necessary tools for use in class. Students may purchase pliers for $15 (returning students should remember to bring theirs). If you need glasses or a magnifying headset to see close-up, please bring them to class. A notebook is also suggested. Whether or not you choose to take the second part of the workshop (in the Fall), you´ll be able to wear home a lovely, sterling silver band that you´ll be proud of!
