Fashion Art: After School

All Levels

Create wearable art by re-imagining T-shirts, hoodies, jeans, back packs, and apparel accessories. Sourced directly from the fashion runway e-blasts of the world; learn about up-trending textile designs and color palette forecasts! Explore the design process by sketching the ideas, planning the color schemes, and placing the designs onto a garment. Experiment with fabric painting possibilities utilizing masking tape and creating original scissor cut stencils. Projects will include learning to apply the final designs to the fabric by dyeing, brush painting, sponging and spraying. Young designers will study the art of slashing, cutting, and weaving with fabric scraps. Add final details to the projects with decorative yet functional hand stitching techniques, plus buttons and beads.
